International Chapter

Dr. Jackie Thompson, Director

The International Chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota was formed in 1988 in response to a need voiced at the previous year's triennial convention. Many sisters, still desiring to remain close to and active in SAI, lived too far from conventional chapters to participate in regularly scheduled meetings.

Our mission is to provide a means for continued association with our fraternity for those sisters (both alumnae and undergraduate members) living more than 50 miles from another chapter.

How do we communicate?

Our newsletter, "Around the World with SAI," is circulated four times per year with important news about our fraternity and our members. The holiday issue strives to provide information about our members' current endeavors.

How much are dues?

Dues are $15.00 per year. They are invoiced by the National Headquarters in Asheville, North Carolina, and are to be paid directly to them.

What is required of me before I join the International Chapter? You need to:

  • live 50 miles or more from an SAI chapter
  • be current with national dues

Our International Chapter sisters are truly wonderful women. Although most of us will never meet in person, we are close and caring nonetheless. Our love of music and the bonds of our fraternity unite us forever. We look forward to your affiliation with us.

For more information about the International Chapter, contact Dr. Jackie Thompson, Director.
