- What, When, and Where, 1997. Set of 3 improvisatory pieces for unaccompanied treble instrument.
- A Virginia Labyrinth, 1996. Score is a musical labyrinth through which the performer chooses the path to determine the final musical material performed. 8 1/2 minutes if all paths are taken.
- Windows, 1996. Score pages have "windows" which reveal material from the page behind. Performer chooses the order of the pages to determine the final musical material performed. 4 minutes.
- Bridges, 1997. 4 major sections to be connected by improvisational "bridges" made up of material taken from the two sections being joined. 4 1/2 minutes plus "bridge" material.

- From This Day Forward, 2002. Brass quartet for 2 trumpets and 2 trombones (alternate Horn in F part for 1st Trombone). Three short movements written originally for the composer's son's wedding. 5 minutes.
