Greg Danner
Biography
Greg Danner is Professor of Music in the Department of Music and Art
at Tennessee Technological University. He received his baccalaureate
degree from Southeast Missouri State University, the M.M. in music
theory from the Eastman School of Music, and the Ph.D. in composition
from Washington University. Danner has received annual ASCAP awards
for composition since 1989. He has received commissions to write works
for performance at various music conferences and festivals, including
the International Brass Festival, New York Brass Conference, International
Trumpet Guild, and College Band Directors National Association. He
is the recipient of the Louisiana State MTNA Composer Commission Award.
Dr. Danner participated as a resident composer at the Charles Ives
Center for American Music and has served as a consultant in the Kennedy
Center for the Performing Arts "Performing Arts Centers and Schools" program. His research in music theory has been published in the journals Music Perception, Interface -- Journal for New Music Research,
Journal of Musicological Research, and Journal of Music Theory
