Composers BureauJerry CaseyBiography Jerry Casey is a member of the Society of Composers, Inc. (SCI), International Alliance for Women in Music (IAWM), and American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP). Mrs. Casey has received the ASCAP Standard Award annually since 1996. She is a former faculty member at Cumberland College, Williamsburg, Kentucky, and Edison Community College, Ft. Myers, Florida. Mrs. Casey's commissioned works include a piano trio, Celebration 25! for the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Columbus Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota (SAI); a new setting of The Musicians of Bremen for Columbus Women's Orchestra; a one-movement string quartet, One, Yet Different, for the Ohio Federated Music Clubs; celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the National Federated Music Clubs; and Conflict and Reconciliation for the String Sinfonia of Women in Music-Columbus. Seven (A Suite for Orchestra), with the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra, Robert Stankovsky, conduction, and a woodwind quintet, Gli intrighi d'amore (The Intrigues of Love), performed by the Moyzes Quintet were recently released on the MMC label. Other works by Mrs. Casey include Fountain Fantasy for clarinet and piano; Two Christmas Songs (soprano, flute and harp); A Suite for Brass and Percussion; Three Love Songs (soprano and piano), based on the poetry of Elizabeth Barrett Browning; Celebration! (Volumes 1, 2, and 3), collections of sacred solos; Who Would Have Thought It? God Did! (Christmas musical for SATB, two narrators, piano, flute, b-flat clarinet); and fifteen choral anthems with titles such as O Praise God with a Song, Give Us a Vision, Lord and They Led Him Away; Seven ( A Suite for Piano): and Psalm of Praise and Hope (soprano and piano). All of these works are published by Jerry Casey Music. In addition she has had choral anthems published by Genevox and a piano duet Fiesta, by Willis. Her works have been performed several times in a number of venues in central Ohio including Columbus Women's Orchestra, the Now Music Festival at Capital University, the Women in Music - Columbus (WMC) Chamber Concert Series and Central Ohio Composers' Alliance (COCA). She has also had works performed in Florida, Kentucky and North Carolina. Mrs. Casey, a teacher of piano and voice for over 40 years, has degrees from Texas Woman's University and Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. She is nationally certified in piano and voice by Music Teachers' National Association (MTNA). She is retired as a full member of National Association for Teachers of Singing (NATS).
