Oratorio - manuscript
- JESU - An oratorio based entirely on the words of Jesus from
the King James Version (Matthew) for mixed chorus, tenor, soprano,
soloist, and chamber orchestra or piano. Duration: 55 minutes.
- SOLOMON - An oratorio with text adapted by Carolyn Butterfield
and the composer from the King James Version of the Bible, for
mixed chorus, solo quartet and full orchestra. Duration: 1 hour.
Cantatas - manuscript
- THANKSGIVING SERVICE - A Cantata for solo quartet, mixed choir,
brass, percussion and organ. Words from Governor William Bradford's
"History of Plimoth Plantation". First Performance: San Francisco
(A Union Thanksgiving Service, Congregation Emanuel and First
Unitarian Church), 1967. Both churches commissioned the work.
Duration: 30-60 minutes, depending on the length of the church
service, as music is to be integrated within the service.
- NIGHTINGALES - for winds and mixed chorus. Words from the poem
of the same title by English poet Robert Bridges. Duration: 10
minutes. Commissioned by San Francisco State University Choral
Department, Dr. John Tegnell, conductor.
- *THREE PSALMS - for tenor and soprano solo with virtuosi brass
quintet needed. (Recorded by the Los Angeles Brass Society Quintet,
Avant, Vol. II, #1005, 6331 Quebec Dr., Hollywood, CA 90068).
