Warner Hutchison
Biography
Warner Hutchison has a catalogue of some 270 works spanning orchestral, band, choral, chamber music and electro-acoustic genres including forty with about a dozen publishers. He was a French hornist in orchestras in Dallas, Denton, Denver, Las Cruces
and Rochester. He held positions on the faculties of Houghton College and Union University.
Commissions and awards have led to premieres at Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall. His works are performed in Europe, China and Japan as well as the U.S. Compact disc recordings include two brass quintets (Crystal, AUR labels);chamber music (Capstone); flute and piano (24 keys); and albums by the USAF Heritage of America Band. He is professor emeritus from New Mexico State University and lives in Albuquerque, NM.
