Alfonso Montecino
SAI National Arts Associate Alfonso Montecino lives in
Bloomington, IN. He was invited to adjudicate at the Teresa
Carre-o International Piano Competition, Sept. 27-Oct.
4, 1998 in Caracas, Venezuela.
Premieres
At the Festival of Latin American Music, held in Caracas,
Venezuela, Montecino soloed in the premiere of
Concerto
for Piano and Orchestra, op. 38, Nov. 5, 1998 with
Carmen Tellez conducting.
Performances
The same festival included
Composition for Two Pianos,
with duo-pianists Berreta-Hammond, Nov. 4. The Society
of Composers 1998 National Conference, held at Indiana
Univ., included
Balada, op. 35, for soprano, cello,
clarinet, and percussion, with A. Jardim, H. Klug, and
J. Wacker, Tellez conducting, Apr. 16, 1998.
