Annual American Composers Update

Adelina Timofeyew

Adelina Timofeyew** resides in Albuquerque, NM. Her upcoming projects are a baritone song cycle and various instrumental works. In 1999, works heard at private performances in Albuquerque were La Fiesta in an Old Town, with duo-pianists Maribeth Gunning and Ruth Ronan, May 2; and And Early in the Morning, with soprano Mary Hesse, violist Laura Dickinson, and pianist Natalie Wham.

Performances

Pieces performed in Albuquerque in 1999 included How Shall I Begin my Song and Wallflowers, both with soprano Diane Reuler accompanied by pianist Genelia Brodie, at an Albuquerque SAI Alumnae Chapter "Compositions by our Members" program, Feb. 16; He Sat on a Rock, with mezzo-soprano Susan Corley and pianist Jane Viemeister, at a New Mexico Women Composers Guild concert titled "Music Toward the Millennial Cusp," Mar. 21, 1999; and Southwest Fantasia, with violinist Laura Gutman, accompanied by Viemeister, and The Long Walk, for flute, French horn, viola, cello, and piano, both at an ElderHostel "Music of the Southwest" class taught by Jane Ellen at the University of New Mexico, Feb. 19, May 14, July 30, and Nov. 12.
