Annual American Composers Update
Elizabeth Ruth Beeson
Elizabeth Ruth Beeson** works out of her Houston home
and as a teacher and substitute teacher at several schools
and churches in the area. Her 1998-99 Houston piano performances
included
Noah and the Ark, Sunshine and Snowflakes,
Guys and Dolls, and the Easter portion of Handel's
Messiah, as well as programs at River Oaks Country
Club, St. Francis Episcopal School, Holy Cross Lutheran
Church, and Terrace United Methodist Church. At St. Luke's
Episcopal Church, in Houston, she played percussion for
a group of singers called Psalmody. In 1998-99, she accompanied
modern dance classes at the University of Houston.

Piano works performed by the composer in Houston included
Tarantella and Mazurka, May 28, 1998 at St. Anne's
Catholic Shool;
Tear Drops of a Flower, Jan. 18,
1998, and
The Seventh Trumpet, Aug. 2, 1998, both
at St. Philips United Methodist Church;
My Dream,
Feb. 1, 1999 at St. Francis Episcopal School; and
Cowboys,
Feb. 3, 1999 at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church.
