Year by
Musical America.
Premieres
In 1999, Anthony Aibel led the first performances of
Upbeat!,
with the National Symphony Orchestra, Sept. 5, and with
the Westchester Symphony, Sept. 18.
Performances
String Quartet No. 2 (1998) has been played in
1999 by the Emerson String Quartet, at the Ravinia, Aspen,
and Tanglewood festivals, in Mexico City and San Miguel
de Allende, Mexico (summer); and then in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia,
Corpus Christi, TX; Zurich, Switzerland; and Heidelberg,
Germany (fall); with the Penderecki String Quartet in
Toronto and for the CBC, May 12; and by the Luna String
Quartet at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY, Aug.
6-7. Jaime Laredo conducted the Utah Symphony in
Prologue
and Variations, Mar. 26-27, 1999.
Peanuts Gallery,
heard in 1999 with the Chicago Symphony, Apr. 30-May 1,
and with the Indianapolis Symphony, Oct. 19, will receive
2000 performances with the Atlantic Classical Orchestra
in Ft. Pierce, FL, Feb. 10, and with the Adrian (MI) Symphony,
Feb. 27. On Sept. 9, 1999,
Flute Concerto was on
a Houston Symphony program.
Piano Trio has been
presented by the Kalichstein, Laredo, Robinson Trio at
the Santa Fe Music Festival, July 30-31, 1998, and by
the Gryphon Trio in Toronto and for the CBC, May 12, 1999.
