Annual American Composers Update

Helmut Braunlich

Helmut Braunlich, of Bethesda, MD, has retired from Catholic University of America, in Washington, DC, to become Professor Emeritus there.

Premieres

Premieres at the Corcoran Gallery, Washington, DC, included Prelude for Violin, with Michael Obrutsky, Nov. 15, 1997; Trio on an Austrian Folk Tune, with The Contemporary Music Forum, Jan. 20, 1998; and Incantation, for flute, bass viol, and percussion, with the Contemporary Music Forum, Oct. 7, 1999. On Nov. 19, 1997, Overture for Winds was heard first, with the Catholic Univ. Wind Ensemble.

Performances

The Sunrise Quartet played String Quartet No. 2 at Harmony Hall, Nov. 29, 1998 in Washington, DC.
