At a celebration of Cordero's 80th birthday, James Roe
and Gilbert De Jean presented
Duos for Oboe and Bassoon,
Feb. 15, 1998 in New York, NY. Heard in Normal in 1998
were
Sonatina for Violin and Piano, with Sarah
Gentry and Paul Borg, and
Soliloquios No. 5, with
William Koehler, bass viol, both Apr. 6; and
Three
Miniminiatures for Ernst, with Kim Risinger, flute,
and Aris Chavez, clarinet, Sept. 29. A Florida International
Univ. program included
Three Permutations 3, with
Li-Hou Chen, violin; Hsu Chia Ming, cello; and Rafael
Velez, bass viol, Apr. 8 in Miami. In 1998 in Texas, pianists
Joh Owings and Jose Feghali performed
Duo 1954,
Apr. 24 in Fort Worth; and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra,
under German Guiterrez, played
Capricho Interiorano,
June 12. Rachel Barton soloed with the Chicago Sinfonietta,
Paul Freeman, conductor, in Cordero's
Violin Concerto,
Mar. 7 and 15.
