Premieres
In 1998, the Cassatt Quartet gave the first performances
of
String Quartet No. 2 at Syracuse (NY) Univ.,
Mar. 4; at Princeton Univ., Mar. 24; and at the Round
Top (TX) Music Festival, July 4.
Performances
Five Bagatelles, for clarinet, violin, and cello,
was heard at the Mendelssohn Hochschule, in Leipzig, Germany,
Dec. 2, 1998.
Polarities, for flute, violin, cello,
and piano, was played in 1998 by Speculum Musicae, at
a Society of Music Theorists meeting in North Carolina,
Dec. 5; and by Parnassus, at Merkin Hall, New York, NY,
Feb. 26. On Apr. 12, 1999, the San Francisco (CA) Contemporary
Players, led by Donald Palmer, presented
Sextet.
Panta Rhei (Time in Flux) had performances at the
Manhattan (NY) School of Music, Nov. 2, 1998, with the
Hepworth Trio, and at a Music in the Summer Garden program,
Joel Sachs, director, Aug. 26-27, 1999. Accompanied by
pianist Udo Agnesens, soprano Verena Rein sang

Lebens) at the Bode Museum, Aug. 15, 1999 in Berlin,
Germany.
