Warren Benson
Warren Benson, who resides in Pittsford, NY, is Professor
Emeritus at the Eastman School of Music. In May 1999,
Meredith Music Publishers released his book of verse,
". . . And my Daddy will Play the Drums," Limericks
for Friends of Drummers.

Premieres
Daughter of the Stars (A Reminiscence on Shenandoah),
was commissioned and premiered by the Bishop Seton Symphonic
Wind Ensemble, conducted by Garwood Whaley, in Alexandria,
VA, Apr. 4, 1998.
Performances
After its premiere,
Daughter of the Stars had performances
with the U.S. Marine Band, conducted by Col. Timothy Foley,
Dec. 12 and 16, 1998 in Chicago, IL and Fairfax, VA. Franko
Censarini led the Zurich Blasersinfoniker in
The Solitary
Dancer, Feb. 18, 1998. The Stochoch Wind Ensemble,
under Helmet Hubov, played
Recuerdo, spring 1999
in Germany. In Baden-Wurtemburg, Germany, the Sinfonisches
Jugendblasorchester, Felix Hauswirth, conductor, presented
Dawn's Early Light, May 1999.
Danz-n -- Memory
was heard in spring 1999 with the Vestfold (Norway) Concert
Band, conducted by Haakon Hesthammer.
