Annual American Composers Update
Bruce P. Mahin
Bruce P. Mahin is Associate Professor and Director of
the Center for Music Technology at Radford University.
He is one of 40 musicians from eight countries to be selected
for participation in the American Composers Forum's Sonic
Circuits Electronic Music performance roster, which serves
as a resource used by venues around the world for concert
programming. Over 176 artists were considered for participation
in the program.
Premieres
On Apr. 10, 2000, Sondra Mosteller, clarinet, and Jack
Turner, cello, introduced
Ghost in the Machine.
Performances
Mahin presents concerts of his music for electronic wind
intrument and interactive computer, now featuring video
projections throughout the concert presentation. He performed
at the University of Virginia, Nov. 13, 1999; at the University
of North Carolina - Charlotte, Mar. 27; and his works
were heard at the Western Illinois University new music
festival, Feb. 28-Mar. 1, 2000; at the Society of Composers
regional conference at Hampton University, Feb. 12, 2000;
and at the Southeastern Composers League Forum at the
University of North Carolina - Greensboro.
