Annual American Composers Update
Elizabeth R. Austin
"The new millennium has begun auspiciously for me, with two international premieres and a number of fine performances. I am very grateful for having outstanding interpreters for my music! In addition to premieres, performances, and publications, I have enjoyed my tenure as Connecticut Composer's President. CCI is becoming an integral part of Connecticut's cultural scene. In my activity as translator, Continuum Press has released Arnold Benz's The Future Of The Universe: Chance Chaos, God? (spring 2000), which I translated from German into English." Elizabeth R. Austin** spends the summer in Jena, Germany and the rest of the year in Storrs, CT. Michael Slayton, of the University of Houston, has written his Ph.D. dissertation on her music.
