Premieres
Heard first at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Berkeley
(UUCB) was
Quiet Time and Fire of the Spirit, for
SATB and organ, Oct. 15, 2000.
Segue a Quatro for Flute,
Clarinet, Violin and Cello (1999) premiered at the
70th Bielawa Year Celebration concert, part of the UUCB
"Music on the Hill" series, Feb. 6, 2000.
Performances
Besides the premiere, works on the celebration concert
were
Walking the Ramp, for piano and harpsichord,
with Bielawa and Sandra Soderlund;
Lobe den Herren,
a partita for organ, with Soderlund;
Pipes and Brass,
for brass quintet and organ, with Soderlund;
Brassworks,
directed by Eric Howe; and
Five Rants for SATB
choir and violin, with The Choral Artists, directed by
Magen Solomon. Other compositions played at the UUCB in
2000 included
Pipes and Brass, with Soderlund,
at the San Francisco AGO Chapter's Pipes Spectacular concert,
Oct. 15; and
Toccata/Toccata, for piano and harpsichord,
by the Ilona Clavier Duo on a fund-raiser concert, Sept.
10th. On Sept. 26, 2000,
Variations on Ton-y-botel,
for pipe organ, was heard at Pamela Decker's recital at
the University of Arizona.
