Annual American Composers Update
Joshua Missal
Joshua Missal has finished his fifth
novel in the Circus Corelli Adventures series for young
adults, plus two science fiction novels, and three one-act
plays.
Premieres
Freedom March was heard first
with the Mesa (AZ) City Band, Tom Casara, conductor,
at Mesa Centennial Hall, Nov. 2000.
Performances
Under the baton of Paul Rosenfeld, A
Short Overture was played by the Sedona Chamber
Orch., Jan. l6, 2000. Invocation and Dances,
for cello quartet, had performances with Los Cellistas
at Arizona State University, in Tempe, Apr. 2, 2000;
and with Quatra Celli in Los Angeles, Mar. 31, 1999,
and on tour. Overture for Band was heard with
the Arcadia High School Band, Richard Maxwell, director,
in Scottsdale, AZ, Feb. 15, 2000; and with the University
of North Dakota Symphonic Band, Apr. 1999. On Sept.
17, 1999, Linda Wells led the Wichita State University
Flute Choir in Rondo Caprice.
