Annual American Composers Update
Robert Kelly
Robert Kelly has composed several compositions this past
year for string soloists where the solo instrument is
not in the rest of the ensemble:
Chamber Concerto,
Op. 80, for solo viola or cello, woodwind quartet, and
percussion;
Chamber Concerto, Op. 81, for solo
violin, brass quartet, and percussion; and
Chamber
Concerto, Op. 82, for solo piano and chamber orchestra.
In addition, he is planning
Chamber Concerto, Op.
83, for solo harp, string quartet, and percussion. These
compositions have not had a premiere, and will not be
available by his publisher,
American
Composers Edition, Inc, for a while.
Premieres
The premiere of
Sonata for Viola and Piano, Op.72,
occurred with Anne Heiles and William Heiles at Clark-Lindsey
Village, in Urbana, IL, Apr. 3, 2000.
