The Pennsylvania Academy of Music gave a program of Robert
Starer's works (vocal, instrumental and duo-piano music)
which is available on a videodisc.
Premieres
At the 20th anniversary of Chamber Music Plus,
Inventions
and Reminiscences, for cello and piano, was introduced
May 22 in Hartford, CT.
Maverick Variations, for
oboe and strings, had its premiere July 2 with Humbert
Lucarelli and the Miami String Quartet.
The Other Voice,
a one-act opera, was sung first Feb. 22 at St. Michael's
Church in New York, NY. On Aug. 28, Paula Robison presented
Flutemagic, for solo flute, in Boston. On Sept.
2,
Abraham Remembers, a monologue for baritone
and keyboard, premiered in Woodstock, NY.
