McBeth holds the position of Trustee's Distinguished
University Professor at Ouachita University, in Arkadelphia,
AR.
Premieres
Under the direction of Heather Pettit,
the Deer Path Junior High School Band, premiered Estampie
in May 2000 in Lake Forest, IL.
Performances
The Indiana Intercollegiate Band in
Indianapolis performed Through Countless Halls
of Air, with the composer conducting, Jan. 2000.
In 2000, McBeth conducted When Honor Whispers and
Shouts with the Hofstra University Symphonic Band
in Hempstead, NY (Mar); and with the ABC Bandmasters
Band in Ashland, OR (June 2000). The Wheaton (IL)
Municipal Band performed Lauds and Tropes, This
Land of El Dorado, and Of Sailors and Whales,
July 13, 2000, under McBeth. At the National Federation
of Music Clubs convention Aug. 2-5, 2000, in Roanoke,
Virginia, works heard included Scherzo, for
piano, with Benjamin Mason; Four Frescos, for
brass quintet, with the North Cross quintet the Brass
Five; and The Gathering of the Waters, for
men's choir, with the U.S. Army Chorus, under the
direction of Maj. John Clanton.
