Arthur Berger, whose biography is included in the
2001 edition of the New Grove Dictionary, will
have his 90th birthday on May 15, 2002. The Boston
Modern Orchestra Project will lead off the musical
tributes in honor of the occasion with performances
of Serenade Concertante and Prelude, Aria, and
Waltz in January 2002. "Music on My Beat,"
an excerpt from Berger's book, Reflections and
Reminiscences, forthcoming from the University
of California Press, appeared in Provincetown Arts

Performances
On June 22, 2001, the Storm King Festival included
Partita, with pianist David Holzman. In 2001,
the Empyrean Ensemble played Diptych: Collages
I and II, for chamber ensemble, at the Julia Morgan
Theatre, in Berkeley, CA, October 27; and at the Davis
(CA) Art Center, October 28.
