Annual American Composers Update

Frank Graham Stewart

Premieres

The first public performance of SAI National Arts Associate Frank Graham Stewart's Fantasy for Orchestra (1994) was given by the Huxford Symphony Orchestra, Carlton McCreery, Music Director, at the University of Alabama, April 5, 2001. Saxophone Quartet was presented by the Lenoir Sax Ensemble, at the United Methodist Church, in Brevard, NC, February 16, 2001.


Performances

On June 27, 2001, Saxophone Quartet was played and discussed at a saxophone workshop in Spruce Pine, on the Blue Ridge Parkway, directed by James Houlik from the North Carolina School of the Arts, in Winston-Salem. The Brevard College Pre-Graduation Concert by the Symphonic Winds, conducted by David Kirby, included The First Day, May 5, 2001.
