Annual American Composers Update

Performances

In 2000, La Fiesta Mexicana had performances with the Tucson (AZ) Symphony Orchestra, George Hanson conducting, March 25-26; and with the Kent Symphony Orchestra, Lynn K. Asper conducting, in Grand Rapids, MI, May 12. On January 20, 2001, Robert Levy led the Lawrence University Wind Ensemble and String Quartet in Che-Ba-Kun-Ah, in Appleton, WI. An All-Reed Program, March 15, 2001, in Hamilton, OH, included Symphony No. 1, Overture, and A Tabernacle for the Sun, with the Hamilton-Fairfield Symphony Orchestra (HFSO) and Chorus, under Paul Stanbery; La Fiesta Mexicana, with the Fairfield Wind Ensemble, under David Burchfield; and Michigan Morn, with the HFSO and Chorale with Paul Stanbery, baritone, and the composer conducting. On March 19, 2001, A Psalm of Praise was sung by the Green Valley (AZ) Choir, conducted by Helen Nelson Carroll.


Publications

Christmas Eve; big band jazz ensemble with male and female vocalists (dramatic possibilities included), also available with orchestral strings for symphonic performance; H O Reed Music, 2001.
