The 2003 American Composers Updateas published in PAN PIPES, Volume 95, Number 2 Elizabeth R. Beeson*Elizabeth R. Beeson has been a pianist, percussionist, and singer in many performances. She has served as a professional pianist in Houston, Katy, The Woodlands, and Brenham, TX, this season. On March 2, 2002, she judged Houston piano students' performances for the Texas private school Music Educators Association. She has taught music classes in Houston this past year at the Regis School, First Baptist Academy, and William Byrd Music Institute and has directed children and adult singing groups. Recently, she received invitations for her musical work and biography to be housed at the University of Illinois and in a Washington, DC, library. She frequently lectures on her teaching method, inaugurated under The Institutes of Catholic Culture Studies as of August 17, 2001, in Houston. She directs her own music school, the William Byrd Music Institute. A teacher of both students and faculty, she has taught music for over 26 years and has performed for over 30. PerformancesOn Oct. 13, 2001, Beeson played organ arrangements of her piano works Lullaby in C Major Nos. 1 and 2 and Cellestial Sounds at Our Lady of Walsingham Catholic Church, in Houston. Piano works heard in Houston included Adagio in C Major, at Terrace United Methodist Church, November 4, 2001; and The Utopian Road, at First Baptist Academy, May 23, 2002, both with the composer at the piano. *Sigma Alpha Iota Member
