The 2003 American Composers Updateas published in PAN PIPES, Volume 95, Number 2 Jack BeesonJack Beeson received the degree of Doctor of Music honoris causa from Columbia University in May 2002. This season, Kevin Maynor, bass-baritone, hopes to premiere Rupert Brooke Cycle, five songs based on what sometimes are called Brooke's "unpleasant poems."
