Maggi Payne

In 2002, Maggi Payne's System Test (fire and ice), for CD and four "imagers," received an honorary mention at the 29th Concours International de Musique et d'Art Sonore Electroacoustiques de Bourges in the works for dance or theater category.

Premieres

System Test was premiered in January 2002 at Mills College, followed by a performance at New Adventures in Sound Art (Sound Travels), in Toronto, Canada, with eight-channel diffusion.

Performances

HUM 2, for trombone(s), was taken on tour of the Southeast United States by Abbie Conant. At the New San Francisco Tape Music Center, breaks/motors was diffused over a 20-speaker system.  A SoundCulture program at Arizona State University West, in Phoenix, featured Apparent Horizon, breaks/motors, and Liquid Metal.
