Marilyn J. Ziffrin
Marilyn J. Ziffrin was
featured in the Learning Institute of New England College (LINEC)
Afternoon with Arts special presentation entitled "A Composer and
Her Music," at the Concord Community Music School, April 16, 2002.
On May 19, 2002,
Ziffrin was one of six people inducted into the Moline (IL)
High School Hall of Honors. In
fall 2001, Ziffrin was one of three nominated
for the Lotte Jacobi Living Treasure of
the Governors' Arts Awards, awarded every two years by the New Hampshire
State Council on the Arts.
Performances
Cantata for Freedom was sung by choirs from
the North London, NH,
First Baptist
Church and The Congregational
Church of Henniker, NH, Jane Ann McSwiney
organist, and Mary MacMillan, conductor,
at the Congregational Church, September
30, 2001. D'Anna
Fortunato, mezzo-soprano, and John McDonald,
piano, presented Three Songs of the Trobairitz
at Bowdoin Coll., in Brunswick,
ME, October 21, 2001. In
2001, a CONCORA consort of voices, Richard Coffey, Artistic Director,
performed New England Epitaphs at Westminster Presbyterian
Church in West Hartford, CT,
November 3, and at Faith
Lutheran Church
in East Hartford, CT,
November 4. 2001 performances of Recurrences, for
piano, occurred with Catharine Dornin,
at the Concord (NH) Community
Music School,
March 1, and with Mary Wirth at the LINEC program, April 16.
The awards ceremony at Moline High School included Two
Movements for Woodwind Quintet, with the Classique
Quintette, May 19, 2002.
