The 2004 American Composers Updateas published in PAN PIPES, Volume 96, Number 2 Daniel KingmanDaniel Kingman was a California State University, Sacramento (CSUS) professor of music theory, composition, and bassoon from 1956 to 1984 when he retired with Emeritus status. A renowned writer and performer, Kingman died May 27, 2003, in Sacramento, CA at the age of 78. Mrs. Louise Kingman writes, "Dan was so pleased to be included in the annual American Music Pan Pipes issue. He just finished his fourth edition of American Music: A Panorama (G. Schirmer Books), and his two daughters and I heard a performance of his Piano Trio by the Jalina Trio, in Copenhagen, Denmark, July 20, 2003."
