Ellen Taaffe Zwilich *

Premieres

Clarinetist David Shifrin introduced the chamber version of Zwilich's Clarinet Concerto ( 2002) on October 20, 2002, at a Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Concert in New York, NY. On November 2, Shifrin presented the full orchestral premiere of the Clarinet Concerto with the Buffalo Philharmonic, under the direction of JoAnn Falletta. Episodes, for violin and piano (2003), is scheduled to be premiered on February 21, 2004, by violinist Itzhak Perlman and pianist Rohan DeSilva. On March 6, Rituals for percussion ensemble and orchestra (2003), will be performed by the Nexus ensemble and the IRIS Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Michael Stern.
