Greg Danner **

SAI Friend of the Arts Greg Danner was the recipient of an ASCAP Standard Award for 2003. He also received an Honorable Mention in the 2003 MACRO Composition Competition for his choral work Five Nocturnes.

Premieres

A Festival Celebration, for brass ensemble, was presented February 14, 2003, at the Tennessee Festival of Winds and Percussion. On Great White Wings, for concert band, was first performed by the Tennessee All-State Band, April 5. Into the Blue, for woodwind quintet, was introduced by the Cumberland Quintet, September 30.

Performances

January 11, 2003, Walls of Zion for concert band was presented at the Tennessee Conductors Symposium. For a Celebration, for horn choir, was heard at the Barry Tuckwell Institute on August 4. The trumpet ensemble Music for 8, was performed at the Sewanee Summer Music Festival, July 27.
