The 2004 American Composers Updateas published in PAN PIPES, Volume 96, Number 2 Jack Gallagher ***SAI National Arts Associate Jack Gallagher's Celebration and Reflection was performed by the Paragon Brass Quintet at the University of Akron, October 23, 2002. Song of the Daffodils was performed by the Wayne Center for the Arts Cantabile Children's Chorus, Jared Plasterer, conductor, at the 2003 Ohio Music Educators Association Conference in Cleveland, January 25, 2003. Toccata for Brass Quintet was performed by the Haute Fantastique Brass Quintet at the East Carolina University School of Music, Greenville, NC, April 11. Recent broadcasts include the Vienna Modern Masters CD recordings of Berceuse by the Polish Television and Radio Symphony Orchestra of Krakow, Szymon Kawalla, conductor, over Radio Stephansdom Klassiksender 107.3 FM, in Vienna, Austria, and WPRB-FM in Princeton, NJ; and The Persistence of Memory (In Memoriam: Brian Israel) by the Ruse Philharmonic Orchestra, Tsanko Delibozov, conductor, over WPRB-FM. Also broadcast on WPRB's Classical Discoveries, hosted by Marvin Rosen, were Diversions Overture, as performed by the Contemporary Youth Orchestra (Cleveland), Eric Berken, conductor, and Mist-Covered Mountain, recorded by the Wooster Scot Symphonic Band, Nancy Ditmer, conductor. The Capstone CD of Ancient Evenings and Distant Music, recorded by the Solaris Wind Quintet, was broadcast on Maine Public Radio's Morning Classical Music with Leitha Christie. PerformancesDiversions: Triptych for Symphonic Band and Stanfare were performed by the Cincinnati (OH) College-Conservatory Symphony Band, Terence Milligan, conductor, on November 26, 2002; Diversions was later performed by the California State University-Bakersfield Concert Band conducted by Douglas Davis, November 15, 2003. A Quiet Musicke was presented by the Wooster (OH) Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Jeffrey Lindberg, at the College of Wooster, November 9, 2002. Cellist Regina Mushabac, with the Contemporary Youth Orchestra (Cleveland), performed The Persistence of Memory (In Memoriam: Brian Israel), conducted by Eric Berken, at Cleveland (OH) State University, December 14. Nancy Ditmer led the Wooster Scot Symphonic Band in a performance of A Psalm of Life, at the Commencement Concert, College of Wooster, May 11, 2003.
