Julie Mandel

Julie Mandel's newest compositions include The Wedding Trio (piano trio in four movements), and a work for clarinet and piano, made up of three short works.

Premieres

Winter Morning and Spring is Here, both for string orchestra, were introduced February 21, 2003, by the Island String Orchestra, at S. Huntington Library. Pianist Emily Kahoud presented Lazy Day on March 21, Hofstra University. The Flute of Morning received its premiere April 1 by students of Hofstra University: Nicole Camacho, flute; Alexandra Stampoulis, bassoon; Kristin Sambolin, violin; Nikki Pellegrini, piano; and Kristin Brown, soprano.

Performances

Winter Morning and Spring is Here for string orchestra, received a second performance by the Island String Orchestra on March 9, 2003, at Sachem Public Library. The Flute of Morning received a second performance by the same ensemble on May 4, Hofstra University. Love is a Two Part Invention was performed by the I.R.P.E. Chorus at Brooklyn College, on May 9.
