"This year I received a Community Partners grant from the American Composers Forum, for a residency with the Earth Conservation Corps in Washington, D.C., which resulted in the composition Anacostia Journal. I also received an Astral Career Grant from the National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts, and I have joined the faculty of the Peabody Conservatory of Music as Professor of Ear-Training. Premieres

Concert Piece for flute and piano was first heard April 5, 2003, at the "Music Without Borders" festival in Reykjavik, Iceland. The string quartet Anacostia Journal, was premiered along the Anacostia River at the 2003 Earth Day rally in Washington, D.C. by the Vesalius String Quartet.

Publications

The Cuckoo Clock and Regal Procession, both for string orchestra; FJH Music Company; The Tiger and The Lamb, both for three-part treble chorus and piano; Boosey & Hawkes. Fantasy, alto saxophone and piano; Dorn Publications.
