Marvin Lamb

Marvin Lamb spent a 2003 Composer Residency at the Oklahoma Arts Summer Institute, Quartz Mountain Performing Arts Center. Symphony No. 1 (Lewis and Clark) was commissioned by the Idaho Falls Symphony Orchestra, George Adams, conductor, to be premiered in November 2004.

Premieres

Incidental music for Metamorphoses by Mary Zimmerman (clarinet, bassoon, harp, multiple percussion) was first heard at University Theatre, University of Oklahoma (OK), September 25-October 12, 2003.

Performances

In April 2003, Sacred Ground, an orchestral brass fanfare, was presented by the Dallas Wind Symphony, Meyerson Concert Hall, Dallas, TX. Overture for Orchestra was presented by the Teatro Colon Orchestra, under the direction of Duilio Dobrin, Buenos Aires, Argentina, May 2003. Bassoonist Carl Rath performed Vision of Basque, at the Teatro Colón Chamber Music Festival, July 2003. The Voices of Change Chamber Ensemble presented Prism, for trombone, piano, and percussion, on a November concert in Dallas, TX.
