The 2004 American Composers Updateas published in PAN PIPES, Volume 96, Number 2 Margaret Vardell SandreskyPremieresFive Shakespeare Songs, for alto recorder, soprano, viola da gamba, and harpsichord, was commissioned and premiered by Carolina Pro Musica directed by Karen Hite Jacobs, March 28, 2003, St. Mary's Chapel, Charlotte, NC. Commissioned by Kernersville Moravian Church, Variations on 'Thy Majesty,' was introduced June 1 by organist Janette Fishell for the dedication of the new Nordlie organ. Dialogues for Organ and Strings, commissioned by Dr. John S. Mueller, was given its first performance April 25 by Dr. Mueller and the Salem College String Ensemble. Christmas for organ and concert band, also commissioned by Kernersville Moravian Church, was introduced at the Christmas Eve Lovefeasts. PerformancesSinfonia for Organ and Brass Quintet was presented by organist Ron Fox and members of Brass Roots, March 1, 2003, Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul, London, Ontario, Canada. Organist Noel Werner performed Five Sacred Dances, Central Presbyterian Church, Summit, NJ.
