Richard Lane

"In April 2003, I was honored by the Ridgewood (NJ) Orpheus Male Chorus for having served as its accompanist for 40 years. In May, the Ridgewood Chorale performed, as part of its anniversary celebration, five new songs titled A Spring Bouquet. (I've been the accompanist there for 32 years!) Recently, a work for six violas was premiered at a concert in New York given by the American Viola Society."

Premieres

Pianist Linda Sweetman-Waters and the Ridgewood (NJ) Symphony Orchestra, introduced Concerto for Piano and Orchestra, May 2002. Spring Quintet was first heard in performance March 2, 2003, by the Sutton Ensemble, Ramapo College, NJ. The Ridgewood (NJ) Chorale presented Five Choral Works on May 9, and on May 18, the Adelphi Orchestra premiered a 50th Anniversary Overture.

Performances

Four Choral Songs were heard at the Ridgewood (NJ) Orpheus Club, March 26-27, 2003; Songs Saxophone Suite was presented June 8 by the Chatham (MA) Music Club. Affirmation and Song of Solomon were presented by Anne Marie Church on June 7, at the High Mountain Country Club, North Haledon, NJ.
