The 2004 American Composers Updateas published in PAN PIPES, Volume 96, Number 2 Thom Ritter GeorgePremieresSecond Suite in C, CN 318 (1983; rev. 1995), was introduced in a performance by the North Coast Symphonic Band with the composer conducting, Astoria, OR, May 24, 2003. PerformancesSeveral works were presented by Patricia George, flute, and Wesley Beal, piano, at the 26th Annual Texas Flute Society Festival, University of North Texas, Denton, May 17, 2003, including Sonata for Flute and Piano, CN 252 (1969); Concerto for Flute, CN 223B (1966); Six American Folk Songs, CN 341 (1990); and the flute solo, The Minstrel's Song, CN 296 (1978). The DaCamera Brass Quintet presented Quartet No. 4, CN 314 (1982) at the 57th Annual Ball State University School of Music Chamber Music Festival, Muncie, IN, May 23. On May 24, both the First Suite in F, CN 285 (1975) and the Second Suite in C, CN 318 (1983, rev. 1995) were played by the North Coast Symphonic Band at a performance conducted by the composer, Astoria, OR. Canonic Sonata No. 6, CN 226 (1966), was performed by violinists Erica Sanders and Samantha George at the First United Methodist Church of West Allis, WI, June 1. August 7, at the National Flute Association Convention in Las Vegas, NV. Cimarosa Suite, CN 332 (1988) was performed by the Brigham Young University-Idaho Flute Choir, while Duet for Two Flutes ("Patadah"), CN 239 (1967) was performed by the Studio 212 Flute Choir.
