Premieres:The Bear Went Under the Mountain, for narrator and mixed quintet, was first heard April 24, 2004, in a performance by narrator Charlotte Blake Alston with members of the Philadelphia (PA) Orchestra at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia. Flutist Julie Seftick-McGough and pianist Donna Amato presented 9 Walks Down 7th Avenue, June 13, in Carnegie Hall, New York, NY. Hot Spots: Seven Chakras for Tenor Saxophone and Piano, was premiered by saxophonist Marshall Taylor and pianist Samuel Hsu in the fall of 2004 in Langhorne, PA. The Three Little Pigs, for Narrator, Violin, and Cello Auricolae Ensemble (an ACF Community Partners commission for Strings For Schools) premiered in a performance featuring narrator David Yang on November 3. Saxophonist Jay Easton is scheduled to perform Daybreak for baritone saxophone and piano in spring 2005. PerformancesNocturne Caprice for solo flute received numerous performances this past season by both Donald Peck and Mimi Stillman, while Three Fun Fables, for narrator and mixed octet, was also widely performed during 2004 at the Minnesota Orchestra’s Kinder Konzerts. Goldilocks and the Three Bears, for narrator and orchestra, received 14 performances by the Akron (OH) Symphony in May. Susan Nigro presented Concerto for Contrabassoon in several performances throughout the Chicago area in the 2004-05 season. Sonatine de Giverny, for piccolo and piano, was heard August 15 in a National Flute Association national convention performance by Sarah Wimmer, piccolo competition winner.
