The 2005 American Composers Updateas published in PAN PIPES, Volume 97, Number 2 Eugénie R. RocherolleEugénie R. Rocherolle presented new publications at the Hal Leonard and Warner Brothers Publishers Showcases at the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Convention, March 27-31, 2004, in Kansas City, MO. She was a guest composer and clinician, giving an all-Rocherolle workshop and master class at Hollins University, Roanoke, VA, on April 23. Rocherolle was also a guest composer and clinician, presenting a workshop and a student composer master class, June 11-13 at the Texas Music Teachers Association, San Antonio, TX. Most recently, Rocherolle received a commission from the New Orleans Piano Institute to write a piece for two pianos, eight hands, to be premiered on July 17, 2005, at Loyola University in New Orleans. The concert is an annual event held the evening before the start of the New Orleans International Piano Competition and Keyboard Festival/Piano Institute. PerformancesAdieu, la Jeunesse, for soprano trio, was performed by the vocal chamber ensemble Musica Plenti, February 8, 2004, at the First Congregational Church, Old Greenwich, CT, and again on May 2, at the Tallmadge Hill Community Church, Darien, CT. Mazurka in F Major for piano solo was presented by Teresa Zuniga February 26, on a recital featuring voice and piano at Loyola University Chicago, Lake Shore Campus. An all-Rocherolle program featuring choral, vocal, chamber, and piano music, was presented by the faculty and students of Hollins University on April 23; selections included: Along the Sand, Adieu, la Jeunesse, and Where Have the Old Folks Gone?, SSA and piano; The Gift and Lullaby to a Newborn, soprano solo and piano; Vignette, flute and piano; An American Rhapsody, (piano, violin, cello); and Rapsodie des Pyrénées, Blues Concerto, both for two-piano, four-hands.
