Harold Schiffman

Harold Schiffman is Professor Emeritus of Composition in the Florida State University School of Music. He continues to reside in Tallahassee, FL (winter and spring) and Robbinsville, NC (summer and fall). He presently serves as a member of the Music Advisory Board of the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, where he delivered the School of Music’s commencement address on May 14, 2004.

Premieres

Wake: Twelve Preludes and an Epilogue (2003), for solo violoncello (incidental music for Kathryn Stripling Byer’s reading of her chapbook, Wake), was presented by Byer and cellist David Moore on August 26, 2004, at Western Carolina University, Cullowhee, NC.
