Premieres

Leslie Bassett’s Come Thou Long-Expected Jesus was first heard December 7, 2003, in a performance by the First Methodist Church Choir, directed by Braxton Blake, Ann Arbor, MI.

Performances

Love Songs was presented February 9, 2003, by soprano Jill Pearson and pianist Eric Melear. During his tenure as guest composer at the New Music Festival at the University of Louisville (KY) November 8-9, the following compositions by Mr. Bassett were heard: Thoughts That Sing, Breathe and Burn, University of Louisville Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Kimcherie Lloyd; Fantasy for Clarinet and Wind Ensemble, with clarinetist Dallas Titwell and Colors and Contours, both presented by the University of Louisville Wind Ensemble, conducted by Fred Speck. On April 8, 2004, clarinetist Robert Spring was featured in another performance of Fantasy for Clarinet and Wind Ensemble, with the Arizona State University Wind Ensemble, directed by Gary Hill.
