Premieres

Three Folksong Transformations was first heard in a 2004 New York, NY, performance by violinist Cyrus Berovkhim and cellist Arash Amin, with the composer at the piano. Clarinet Concerto was presented in January 2005 by clarinetist Jon Manasse with the National Philharmonic, under the direction of Piotr Grjewski.

Performances

Several pieces were heard throughout the United States during 2004: Fanfare for the Voice of A-M-E-R-I-C-A was performed by the Wheeling (WV) Symphony Orchestra, conducted by André Raphael Smith, and String Quartet No.5 was presented by the Amernet Quartet; Fantasy for Solo Violin received multiple performances by Rolf Schulte, as well as by Kurt Nikkagen at the El Paso (TX) Chamber Music Festival. In March 2004, Elegy on the Name ‘Dmitri Shostakovich’ was heard at a festival in France, while Gershwiniana was performed at a summer festival in Pontlevoy, France.
