The 2006 American Composers Updateas published in PAN PIPES, Volume 98, Number 2 Allen Brings Premieres Duo for clarinet and piano was premiered October 14, 2004, by clarinetist Esther Lamneck and pianist Judith Olson in New York. Jenny LaBonte presented Two Badineries for solo double bass on October 24, Bayport, NY. Concertino in D for string orchestra was first heard February 10, 2005, in a performance by an ensemble of students at Queens College conducted by Joel Mandelbaum, Flushing, NY. Performances Five Praeludia was performed November 4, 2004, by organist David Hatt, San Francisco, CA; pianist Genevieve Chinn presented Ten Conceits on November 18 in Flushing, NY. A Cradle Song and Never Seek To Tell Thy Love were heard February 28, 2005, in a performance by soprano Nancy Ogle and pianist Ginger Yang Hwalek, Cholula, Mexico. Flutist Sharon Osborne and guitarist Howard Williamson performed Sonatina on March 29, Norfolk, VA. Three Airs on anonymous 16th century English verses was presented April 10 by the Adesso Choral Society, conducted by Margaret Collins Stoop, Danbury, CT. Quintet for 2 violins, viola, and 2 cellos was heard in an April 22 performance by Alwyn Wright, Gerardo Hilera, Alma Fernandez, Timothy Leo, and Paula Fehrenbach, conducted by Daniel Kessner, Northridge, CA.
