Austin C. Lovelace

Composer Austin Lovelace reports, “At the 50th Anniversary of the Fellowship of Methodist Musicians, for which I was the organizing chairman 50 years ago, the Fellowship honored me with the Roger Deschner Award, honoring those who have made significant contributions to the worship life of the denomination. I also presented two repertoire sessions on some of my choral works published over seven decades and gave two lectures on Hymns That Jesus Would Not Have Liked.”

Premieres

Fellowship Hymn, for the 50th Anniversary of the Fellowship of Methodist Musicians in Worship and the Arts, premiered in July 2005, in San Francisco, CA; a set of organ variations on the Fellowship Hymn were also premiered.
