The 2006 American Composers Update

as published in PAN PIPES, Volume 98, Number 2

Donald O. Johnston

Donald Johnston has been elected to continue serving as president and editor of Ars Nova Press, which has received nonprofit status from the IRS. The composer members continue to increase in number, as do the number of publications available. Currently the organization has approximately 100 compositions under contract. Ars Nova Press is concerned with the publication and preservation of fine music that has gone out-of-print or never found acceptance by commercial publishers. It serves as an archive of compositions for future generations, preserving and making available to the public the finest traditions of our musical culture.
