Elizabeth R. Austin*

Elizabeth R. Austin, a member of the American Composers Alliance, is the President of Connecticut Composers, Inc. On October 15, 2005, Professor Michael Slayton presented the composer’s paper on Frauenliebe und -leben to the Society of Composers National Conference in Greensboro, NC. Austin is featured on several different web sites, including www.amc.net/member/Elizabeth_Austin/home.html.

Premieres

Waitin’ and Wailin’ Blues for solo piano was given its premiere February 23, 2005, by commissioning pianist Marcel Worms, at the University of Hartford (CT) as part of “The Six Continents Blues Project.” Worms presented the same work again on February 28 at the University of Cincinnati (OH).

Performances

“Remember” from A Birthday Bouquet was heard on January 28, 2005, in a performance by Françoise Vanhecke (voice and piano) in Bergisch Gladbach, Germany. Ginkgo Novo for English horn, cello, and piano, was presented on March 31, Vanderbilt University, Nashville (TN); April 2, Hartford CT; and April 8, Bowdoin College, ME; as part of the USA Tour of the Trio PianOVo from Weimar, Germany.
