Premieres The following compositions, which were introduced in the 2005-2006 season, are all commissioned works. On April 9, 2005, the St. Benedict Brass Ensemble presented Fanfare for Learned Man in Minneapolis, MN; the Emory University Winds performed De Toda La Eternidad on April 13 in Atlanta, GA, and An Introduction to the Moon was presented April 26 by the Apple Valley (MN) Winds. Tatterdamaelion was first heard in a May 2 performance by the Otterbein Chamber Ensemble, Columbus, OH, and the Oregon State College Chamber Choir presented I Dream of Peace on June 4 in Corvallis, OR. Slow Structures was introduced on June 17 by the Meinenger Trio in Potsdam, Germany. Pentametrics was first heard on July 2 at a California Music Teachers program in San Francisco, CA, while Susanne Mentzer and J. Dunham performed Sifting Through the Ruins on July 20 in Aspen, CO. Giving Thanks was given its premiere on October 22 by the Cassatt String Quartet with the Syracuse (NY) Children’s Choir. Nina Assimokpolous presented Now I Pull Silver in concert on October 23, Bowling Green, OH. Trio for flute, harp, and viola is scheduled to premiere February 14, 2006, in Columbus, OH, and the Antara Winds will present Windows in Rochester, NY, March 5, Publications Pentametrics; Bid Call; both by Oxford University Press.
