Premieres

Rogatio Gravis was first heard in a performance by clarinetist Joaquin Valdepenas, violinist Shane Kim, and cellist David Hatherington on April 8, 2005, Glenn Gould Studio, Toronto, Canada. Allez-y! – Scherzo Frenetique for violin and piano was introduced by Oleh Krysa and Tatiana Tchekina on April 8, Eastman Concert Series, Rochester, NY; the same artists performed the work again on May 16, Wigmore Hall, London, U.K. Soloist Steven Miahky and the Aspen Contemporary Ensemble, conducted by the composer, premiered Bricks for violin solo and chamber sextet July 16, Aspen (CO) Music Festival.

Performances

Clarinetist Ralph D’Mello performed Chalumeau for clarinet and pre-recorded clarinet on October 3, 2004, at the Liverpool (NY) Public Library. Monumentum Pro Umbris for wind ensemble was performed November 6-7 by the Koninklijk Harmonieorkest Vooruit, under the direction of Geert Verschaeve, at the International World Contest for Bands at Kerkrade, The Netherlands; and on September 24, 2005, by the Eastman Wind Ensemble, conducted by M. D. Scatterday, Rochester, NY. Kerberos for snare drum was presented by John R. Beck on November 9, 2004, North Carolina School of the Arts. Symphony No. 9, ---epiphanies--- for symphony orchestra without strings was heard in an April 23, 2005, performance by the Stetson University Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Bobby Adams, Deland, FL.
