The composer writes: “One of the songs, “Eat or Be Eaten,” from my new musical comedy The Time Chronicles was featured on the NPR program 'Open Mic.' It can be heard by linking to the main NPR web site and then searching for Bruce Mahin. The 'Open Mic' page should come up as a link after the search.”

Premieres

The Radford University Chorale introduced Safe in Shade (after Robert Penn Warren) on April 25, 2006. Freedom Lost, written for the fifth anniversary of the September 11 attacks, was premiered by Lucy Mauro on September 11 at Radford University, Charlotte, NC; the work was performed again on October 22 by Tomoko Deguchi at Winthrop University, Rock Hill, SC.

Performances

Time Chants for clarinet and interactive computer was performed by Ros Dunlop on tour of the United States, and on October 2, 2005 at California State University-Los Angeles; on October 3 at the University of Louisville, KY; and on October 6, 2005, at Radford University.

Recordings

Mood Shifts includes “Blue”for two pianos; pianists Lucy Mauro and Nitza Kats; Capstone Records CPS-8748.
